letters from panjab

letters from panjab remains a project dear to my heart, as side-burner’ed as it may be. The project was borne from a desire of finding a way to help humanize immigrant parents’ experiences. My dad had an archive of letters he’d received throughout his life; the addresses revealing a history more concise than he could’ve put into words.

From receiving letters at the port of Greece to a documented trail of every house he called home after leaving Panjab, my dad’s letters answer many questions, and yet raised more than can ever be answered.

At the time of building the brand, I was in the middle of a debilitating cycle of grief that I hadn’t yet learned how to manage. My personal writings never fail to connect my experiences and opinions back to the land of my parents, a land which calls out to me from oceans away. I’ll pick back up one day, when it hurts a little less to connect with the land that gave me all of the people I love who aren’t with me today.

Until then, enjoy this cutesy little brand✨
